| Construction is one of the industries that there are very large corporate construction companies which require a nice resume, experience, interview, drug tests etc. On the other hand there are small construction companies that you might just get hired becuase you might own a hammer and tool belt.
I would do some research on the company you might want to work for and possibly ask some of the people who currently work there how they got hired.
If you are going to be writing and presenting a resume here are some tips.
- Put your contact information in full
- Objective: Be precise and customize it to what they are known for. (examples: concrete, interior remodeling etc)
- Education: Make sure it is from most recent education first. GET SOME TYPE OF EDUCATION POST HIGH SCHOOL DEGREE! Just this will put you above many in the construction industry. Remember education doesn\\\'t have to be college, you might have been to seminars or other training courses outside college courses.
- Be sure to get involved in the community. The more your involved shows construction employers you have been trusted by others in organizations.
